April 23, 2022 – Leeds
“Both Matt and I are intensive care nurses at St. Vincent’s and started our jobs there within two weeks of each other. His cousin and I were in the same orientation group, so throughout orientation week we got to know each other. At the end of the week, Matt’s cousin came up to me and asked if I was dating anybody. I said no, and she proceeded to tell me all about him and show me many pictures. He did not seem half bad, so I told her she could give him my number. I remember walking outside and calling my mom and telling her, ‘I think this is my husband.’ However, it took me a little convincing when he actually reached out to me, but the rest is history! We have been together since 2020.” – Jessica
Advice from the Bride
“The best advice I can give is to truly enjoy every moment of your engagement season and do not wish it away. Wedding planning itself can be stressful and tedious, but it is supposed to be fun. In your planning, make sure you are making your wedding for what you want it to be – not for what someone else wants it to be. It is okay to do things differently or have different taste than others. It is all about whatever makes you happiest!” – Jessica
