“Like many Alabama love stories, Brian and I met at The University of Alabama, where we were also both in in the Million Dollar Band. After a year of friendship, trips to Taco Bell, and many late night car rides, we found ourselves falling in love at the start of summer. Fast forward three years, and I would soon be graduating and moving away for work while Brian finished his final semester of school. This is where our story gets sweet. We were both soon-to-be-graduates with no money for a ring or a wedding; however, I still had an undeniable feeling that something big was about to happen.

On the night of my graduation, as we were getting ready to go to dinner, Taylor Swift’s,”Paper Rings,” started playing from another room. Excited to hear one of my favorite songs, I skipped to the next room to see Brian on one knee holding a paper ring. No, it was not a proposal, yet! It was Brian’s way of expressing that this was it. With this paper ring, he vowed that no matter where life would take us, we would be together forever. In December of 2022, the real proposal happened in my favorite place – the Fairhope Pier! As much as I love my beautiful wedding ring, my paper ring will forever be my most precious possession. It was in my dress pocket on the day of our wedding. And of course, on the day of our wedding we said, “Cheers!” to a lifetime of paper rings.” – Randi

Advice From the Couple:

“Our advice to other couples is to carefully curate a playlist for each event of your wedding to set the exact tone of the moment. Music plays a huge role in the mood of each stage of the night. For example, when my bridesmaids and I were getting ready, I made a playlist centered around girlhood! Our cocktail hour and dinner playlists were focused around nostalgia to bring the feel-good and uplifting mood. Finally, we turned the lights down low, added some epic strobe lighting, and danced the night away to a playlist of dance floor classics!

Pro Tip: Ask your DJ to call everyone to the dance floor for a group photo. After the photographer gets the shot, have your DJ drop a beat to keep all of your guests right there on the dance floor. Trust us on this one!” – Randi
