“My fiancé and I have known each other since we were children and first met in kindergarten. That year, we were each other’s date to the Valentine’s Day dance. We grew up playing soccer together and shared many of the same classes. In eighth grade, we became each other’s first official boyfriend and girlfriend. Though we eventually broke up, we remained close friends. Our junior year of high school we started dating again and have been inseparable ever since!
We attended college together and, after graduating, moved back home. During a beach trip in August 2023, I suspected he might propose during family photos we had planned that night – but he completely surprised me that morning instead. Every time we visit the beach, we have a tradition of waking up early to watch the sunrise at least once. That morning, his entire family got ready and headed down to the beach to watch the sunrise with us. He asked if I wanted to take a picture, and as we did he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Instant tears.” – Audrey
