Engaged November 4, 2023 – Birmingham
Cody and Vernon have already tied the knot officially, but will celebrate their wedding ceremony on May 25, 2025, in Columbiana.
“Vernon and I had been Facebook friends for years, but I never really paid much attention to him – until 2021, when I started to notice just how handsome he was. Even then, I kept it to myself, which made it all the more surprising when Vernon slid into my DMs to start a conversation. From that first exchange, we discovered an instant connection, bonding over our mutual love for music and shared values.
Vernon proposed around our two-year anniversary together. We went to dinner at Cafe Dupont in downtown Birmingham and then went back to our downtown loft together. When I walked in the apartment, I saw rose petals everywhere and a photographer. I continued walking down the hallway into our home and I saw my family, his family, and a banner hanging in the background asking, ‘Will You Marry Me?’ He gave a speech about how I’ve made him a better man and got down on one knee with my dream engagement ring!” – Cody
