“DJ and I started dating when I was 15 and he was 16. We were set up as homecoming dates and ended up having a lot in common, so much so that we continued to date for the next seven years even though we went to different colleges (he went to Bama and I went to Ole Miss). I had just come home from my senior spring break when DJ asked me to go to lunch at the restaurant where we had our first date back in 2015. Afterward, he shared a crazy story with me as to why we had to go to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, which is where he proposed! I knew he was going to propose when he gave me a baseball that we have been passing back and forth over the last seven years – the same one I had stolen from his car the night he had asked me to be his girlfriend. That baseball also has many other dates of importance to us, including dating anniversaries and now our engagement date. We just added our wedding day and will continue to add to it for forever. – Corinne

Favorite Wedding Memory

“We incorporated balloon hats not only as a fun feature for our wedding reception, but also as a homage to my parents’ wedding. They did the same thing at their wedding reception 24 years ago. Our wedding details were very family-oriented, including wedding photos of our parents and grandparents on display as well as my dad playing the guitar during the reception and driving away in my grandfather’s car from the 1970’s that he brought back from overseas. I also danced at Ole Miss as a Rebelette so my teammates and I gave a sideline-worthy performance during the reception, which was so much fun. I wanted the wedding to be as personal as possible so that our guests would feel right at home.” – Corinne
