“Matt and I met at a bowling alley in Oxford, Mississippi. I was in my last year of pharmacy school, and Matt was living in Oxford. A mutual friend extended an invitation to go bowling with them when I first moved back to Oxford, and I decided to take him up on his offer one Wednesday in February. Matt asked me out to dinner a few weeks later. After that, we spent almost every day together until I graduated. I moved back to Birmingham after graduation and started my pharmacy residency at UAB. We spent the next year and a half traveling back and forth between Oxford and Birmingham. To be honest, Matt did most of that traveling! He surprised me with a trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee in August, where he proposed on top of Sunset Rock. It had just started to rain, so we basically had the whole mountain to ourselves. Matt planned the entire itinerary. We spent the weekend hiking, swimming in blue holes, and jet skiing on the Tennessee River!” – Demi

“The best piece of advice I can give to couples planning a wedding is: stick by each other’s side during the reception. Everyone wants to speak to you on your wedding day. If you get separated, you may accidentally be separated most of the night. Matt and I were together the whole night and were able to enjoy our wedding together.” – Demi
