March 29, 2025   –   Lake Martin

“We met on August 31, 2014, though, looking back, it feels like fate had a hand in it long before then. That day, I was at our house I grew up in on Lake Martin, when I happened to glance over the balcony and saw a cute guy helping clean up after a baby shower. That guy was Chase Thomas Humber. Later that same evening, we ran into each other again at the Corey Smith concert on Lake Martin. I was with a big group of girlfriends, and he was there with his Central Alabama Community College golf teammates. A week later, September 6, we officially started dating.

On August 6, 2024, one month shy of our 10-year anniversary, Chase pulled off the surprise of a lifetime. We were on our annual family trip that year in The Exumas, a tradition we’ve come to cherish. Each year, we take professional family photos during the trip, so naturally, I didn’t think anything of it. In fact, I had convinced myself it couldn’t happen that week. His family wasn’t with us, and I figured he would think I had already guessed what was coming. I even joked with friends beforehand that there was no way he would propose, so I went into the trip with no expectations at all. I’d requested a photo of only us, and the photographer positioned me just right, facing the ocean. What I didn’t know was that Chase was getting down on one knee right behind me. The photographer casually told me to turn toward the camera, and when I did, there he was down on one knee. At first, I honestly thought he was joking and playing around for laughs with my family watching. Then I saw his face, and I knew it was real. I was finally getting to marry the love of my life, my very best friend. After the photos, we rushed back to the house to FaceTime his family who had been waiting anxiously for the call, already knowing exactly when and how it was going to happen!” – Jordan

Favorite Memory

“One of the most meaningful memories from our wedding day was having local artist Lila Graves paint live during our reception. Watching her bring the scene to life, brushstroke-by-brushstroke, was surreal. Lila is not only incredibly talented, but also a dear family friend from our hometown of Alexander City, which made the moment feel even more personal. My mom and Lila have been close for years, so having her there felt like having a piece of home woven into the celebration. The finished painting will hang  in our home, and is a keepsake we will treasure forever.” – Jordan
