“A lot had to go right for us to be here. Jack is from Columbus, Ohio, and I am from Pelham, Alabama. In early 2023, Jack was working remotely in data analytics, and I was attending medical school at UAB in Birmingham. Jack had a desire to experience different cities, so he stayed with his college friend who was doing a medical rotation in Birmingham. Jack’s pastors in Columbus knew of my pastor in Birmingham, so Jack attended my church and got invited to my community group. We met at group where I had a crush instantly. At the same time, Jack was not looking for romance as he knew he’d be leaving. However, about a week before he was leaving, we both ended up at the same coffee shop and talked until it closed. We spent his final week in Birmingham going on dates including a final one at Birmingham Botanical Gardens. He left the next day with neither of us knowing what would happen. Thankfully, we kept in touch via FaceTime over the next few months, and Jack moved back to Alabama to see where our relationship would go. Eventually, he proposed at the Botanical Gardens about a year after we first met.” – Kelsey

“Jack and I had so much gratitude for our families and friends on the day of the wedding. We recall looking around and seeing all our loved ones from multiple states gathered in one place. Being from different states, we know that we probably won’t see that many of our favorite people in one place ever again, so we truly cherish that day.” – Kelsey
