For brides and mothers preparing for one of life’s most memorable days, radiant, healthy skin is often top of mind. Dr. Holly Gunn, owner of Gunn Dermatology in Mountain Brook, knows that achieving that glow isn’t only about aesthetics; it’s about combining expert dermatologic care with a calming experience.
“Advanced dermatologic care doesn’t have to feel clinical,” Gunn says. “We intentionally designed Gunn Dermatology to blend the two worlds: cutting-edge lasers, injectables, and medical treatments delivered in a setting that feels warm, soothing, and elevated. It allows patients, especially brides, to achieve transformative results without sacrificing the calming experience they love.”
Her practice uniquely combines medical and cosmetic dermatology under one roof, giving clients a truly integrated approach. “Patients will get the best results when we blend medical and cosmetic treatments,” Gunn explains. “Many brides and mothers come in with concerns like acne, rosacea, or pigmentation, and we can address those medical issues while also planning aesthetic treatments that enhance their natural beauty for the big day. This integrated approach creates better outcomes, a smoother treatment timeline, and a truly personalized experience.”
From the moment clients walk through the doors, Gunn aims to provide a welcoming, exceptional experience. “We want every client to feel instantly embraced,” she says. “Our approach blends holistic care with medical science, creating a space where patients feel both understood and expertly treated. Whether someone is here for acne, injectables, or pre-wedding glow treatments, the experience should feel warm, intentional, and truly exceptional.”
Wedding planning can be stressful, and Gunn notes that skin often reflects that stress. Her advice for brides is to prepare early and surround yourself with trusted experts. “The best way to minimize wedding anxiety is to prevent it with a solid plan,” she says. “If anything unexpected comes up, you already have a team in place who knows how to guide you through it.”
For brides and mothers planning ahead, Gunn recommends a timeline to ensure optimal results. She suggests starting 9 to 12 months out with a cosmetic consultation to create a customized plan and review the skincare routine, including resurfacing treatments if needed. Four to six months before the wedding, skin tightening treatments such as Vivace or SkinPen can be introduced. Three to four months out is ideal for trial Botox or filler, hydrafacials, oxygen facials, dermaplane, and IPL treatments to target pigmentation or redness. Botox touch-ups are best scheduled six weeks before the big day, with hydrafacials, oxygen facials, and dermaplane treatments reserved for the week of the wedding.
With careful planning and a holistic approach, Dr. Gunn helps clients feel confident and radiant from the inside out. Achieving glowing, healthy skin does not have to be stressful; it can be an experience to enjoy.
