After months of planning your wedding and the fun-filled wedding weekend, there’s nothing like getting away with your new spouse for your honeymoon. Getting to spend time together toasting your future in a fabulous location – there’s not much better than that! Everyone has different desires and expectations for this special trip. Some want rest and some want adventure! Here are a few suggestions based off of what you want out of your honeymoon!
If you want to relax in paradise…
The Caribbean. After planning a wedding and celebrating all weekend, disconnecting and relaxing may be just what is needed. The Caribbean has so many beautiful islands, each with its own personality.

South Africa. Lions and leopards and elephants – oh my! South Africa is a bucket list trip, and you’ll make memories to last a lifetime during this adventure. Though spending time on safari is a must, don’t forget to include a few days exploring Cape Town and relaxing in the wine country.

Don’t miss: Enjoying some down time. It’s hard not to fill your itinerary when you’re all the way in South Africa, but plan a day or afternoon that is unscheduled. (Pro tip: if you go to the winelands, Franschhoek is a charming town to explore and savor a long, leisurely lunch.)
If you crave something exotic…
Bora Bora. We’ve all seen those gorgeous photos of over-the-water bungalows and lush green islands, and you can make it your reality during a fabulous honeymoon.

Don’t miss: Have an al fresco picnic lunch or dinner on a private beach. It can be even more fun if you ride bikes or take a canoe to get there!
If you want to stay in the United States…
California coast. Spend your honeymoon exploring the Golden State as you drive along the coast. You can enjoy beautiful vistas, vineyards, beaches, cities and more – California here we come!
Favorite Hotels: Hotel Bel-Air, Carneros Resort & Spa, Rancho Valencia, Montage Laguna Beach
Don’t miss: Doing an activity based on each of your interests. Whether its watching a sporting event, learning to surf, going shopping, hiking, or visiting a museum, you can find just about anything as you drive up the coast.
