Bode and Arden met while in college at Auburn University. They had mutual friends and attended the same church. Bode was a finance major and Arden was in marketing, so they had a few classes together. Junior year, Arden did not get a parking pass on campus, so when they realized they had accounting class together, she asked him to drive her home three days a week. The short car rides led to good conversation, and after a month, Bode asked Arden on a date. When they got engaged, Bode told Arden that they were going to dinner with his parents at Botanic, the restaurant where they had been on their first date. When they got there, he had a beautiful setup and asked her to marry him right where they sat on their first date. They then went to Amsterdam Cafe for an engagement party with all of their friends and family.

So much of our story happened while we were at Auburn, and we felt like it was the perfect tribute to have Toomer’s lemonade for guests during the cocktail hour.” – Arden
