Twenty-four years ago, Courtney and Will met as young kids having fun and figuring out life. They were drawn to each other, but life took them on different paths. Like Cinderella leaving the ball at midnight, their story was left unfinished – the glass slipper left waiting. Then the two crossed again. As an only child, Courtney explained her role as her mother’s caregiver. Will continued to be patient and intentional in his pursuit of Courtney. What began years ago as youthful affection blossomed into a 1st Corinthians 13:4–7 love that is patient and kind.
Following traditional values, Will asked Courtney’s mother for her daughter’s hand in marriage. Wanting the moment to be filled with those dearest to her, he envisioned a proposal surrounded by Courtney’s mother, closest family, and dearest friends. To bring his vision to life, Courtney’s cousin, Tamara Smith (Matron of Honor), and close friend, Kierston Wilson (Maid of Honor), teamed up with Will to plan the perfect proposal.
Advice From the Couple:
1. Allow your planner to schedule a 20-minute private dinner before you are introduced to your guests.
2. We wrote short love letters to all 300 guests that were paired with their table numbers.
3. We highly recommend pre-marital counseling to discuss marriage expectations, finances, family dynamics, worship practices, goals, etc.
