“Andy is a part owner of an ice cream shop in Mountain Brook that was my guilty pleasure in grad school at Samford. He would be working at the store and I would try to make conversation. He wouldn’t give me the time of day. The only time he would talk to me was to say, ‘Our spoons keep breaking, so I put two spoons in your bag.’
A few years later, we were both on Bumble, started talking, and the rest is history. Our first date was dinner at Jim Davenport’s and going on a walk. Whenever we have something big happen in our life, we go to Jim Davenport’s and go on the same walk. When it was time for Andy to propose, he took me to Jim Davenport’s and went on a walk. When we got to where we had said our goodbyes on the first date, Andy got down on one knee. It was private and just the two of us, and it was perfect.” – Haley
Advice From the Bride
“Remember that at the end of the day, it is about you and your partner getting married. Andy and I wanted to be involved in the planning process. So neither of us would make a decision without talking to each other. It has really helped in adjusting to married life, because we talk about making decisions no matter how small or big.” – Haley
