“We locked eyes on the very first day of medical school, but it wasn’t quite love at first sight. Over the early years of training, our paths found each other again and again, whether it was organizing free clinics as co-presidents of the Dermatology Interest Group or sharing laughs over ice cream socials as co-representatives of our learning community. During our third year, the stars finally aligned, and what had grown into a deep friendship blossomed into our love story. Now, we are both dermatology resident physicians, in our last year of residency!
Siddhu planned the proposal of my dreams in my home country of Colombia. On his first visit to Bogotá, we spent the day exploring with my family before he led me that evening to Hotel de la Opera. I stepped out onto the rooftop, which had been lovingly decorated by my mom and grandma with white roses and candles, while a violinist played “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez. Surrounded by family, under the stars and with fireworks in the distance, Siddhu got down on one knee, and I said yes to forever!” – Bella
