“Bria and I met one night when we were invited over to our mutual best friend’s home for dinner. While there, I made my famous and delicious homemade pizza, which I have been making since I was seven years old, for a small group of close friends to enjoy. The pizza quickly became the topic of conversation, which allowed me to get to know Bria more. After we finished eating, we moved on to playing a board game and I knew that I had feelings for Bria.
After that night, we kept in touch for many months until fall when we started going on dates. On the first date that we went on, I drove from Tuscaloosa to Atlanta to take Bria out for drinks and dinner. The date went so well that we continued to see each other for the next month and a half before I asked her to be my girlfriend. Shortly after, I moved to Huntsville to start a new job and continued to have a long-term relationship with Bria. We split time on the weekends, either in Atlanta or Huntsville, spending time trying new restaurants and recipes, while also getting to know our friends more as a couple. Over the summer of 2023, we started talking about our future together and thought about how we would like to be engaged. I then bought a ring and proposed to Bria in November while vacationing in Carmel-by-the-Sea with my mother and stepfather, who took our very special photos.
Since being engaged, we have bought a home together and have been able to make it feel welcome for all that have come visit, no matter the occasion. Just like how we met, homemade pizza continues to be a meal that Bria and I love eating together and sharing with friends and family.” – Alberto
About the Wedding
“We envisioned an intimate, black-tie garden party that felt like an extension of our home – elegant, personal, and filled with meaning. We chose the historic Weeden House as our venue not only for its charm, but also for its powerful legacy. Maria Howard Weeden, the home’s namesake, was known for painting dignified portraits of formerly enslaved African Americans – an act of grace and courage that added another layer of depth to our celebration.
Our wedding day was a reflection of love, family, and the many people who have shaped our story. The joy and peace captured in our photos speak to the strength of that foundation, and the future we’re building together.” – Bria
