“Our story starts our freshman year of college at The University of Alabama. We got set up to go to Spencer’s fraternity’s New Orleans date party at the very last minute. What we thought was a random setup was actually not random at all – it was God’s plan. He surprised me the entire New Orleans weekend and I remember thinking that I have never laughed so much in my entire life. I quickly felt safe and like I could be my authentic self around him. After that, we dated for more than three years, and we took almost every class in college together since we were both marketing majors.

After college, we moved to Pensacola, Florida, and made the most amazing memories at the beach and he even proposed to me at our favorite spot near the Portofino Resort. Spencer completely surprised me with the proposal. He talked to my family and planned a weekend where everyone came to Pensacola to visit.I thought everyone was just excited to come visit the beach.First, he secretly went to my parents’ house in Helena, to ask for their permission. Then he planned the proposal on the beach with champagne, roses, and big light-up letters that said, ‘MARRY ME!’ He even hired a photographer to hide and capture the moment. He told me we were going to his work party on the beach before going to meet my family for dinner. When I saw what was happening, I was so excited I threw my purse on the sand!It was the perfect proposal at our favorite spot on the beach.Afterward, we went back for an engagement party with family and friends. We had wonderful food, cake, more champagne, and a wonderful night of celebration.” – Blakely

The Color Story

I have always loved pink as my favorite color, but I really wanted to incorporate another color also. I decided blues and pinks would work well together, so I chose light blue as my bridesmaid dress color and had a color palette of light blue, pink, and white. I also had light blue damask linens mixed with some white ones. The floral colors were pinks and whites. I loved how the pink and white florals complemented the light blue linens. It was truly my dream-come-true wedding! The colors are classic and romantic!” – Blakely
