“Our love story began at Auburn University. We met each other through Kat’s older brother, Tyler, who happened to be Avery’s pledge brother. This was the beginning of a remarkable journey that would ultimately lead to us to become more than just friends. The moment we met, there was an instant spark. We found ourselves drawn to each other’s interests, sense off humor, and shared values. We officially started dating November 1, 2018. We enjoyed all the rest that college had to offer together and both proudly graduated from Auburn University. After graduation, we endured the challenges of long-distance as we both pursued our respective careers until Avery finally made the move to Birmingham to be in the same city as me while I finished my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree.
Avery proposed at the beautiful Birmingham Botanical Gardens on August 7, 2022, in the most unexpected way. Completely unaware of what was about to happen, I was taken by surprise, and the moment quickly turned emotional as joyful, happy tears flowed. The serene garden setting, with its vibrant blooms and peaceful atmosphere, made the perfect backdrop for a day that would never be forgotten. As the day’s excitement carried on, we celebrated with family and friends at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Mountain Brook. The intimate gathering, filled with love and laughter, was the perfect way to end such a special occasion.” – Kathryn

It’s an opportunity to soak in those first intimate moments as husband and wife before the whirlwind of celebration continues. Our private dinner took place on a terrace overlooking the reception, which allowed us to feel connected to the lively energy of our guests while still enjoying a quiet, romantic moment together.
