Deborah Wiggins dresses Southern ladies for life’s greatest moments.
AL Weddings at The Clothes Tree by Deborah. Beauty by Makeup Mel with Cat Moreno and Lisa Nguyen Perez.
The Clothes Tree by Deborah celebrates its 60th anniversary in May of 2025. Deborah Wiggins’ grandmother opened the store when she was in her early 50s and dressed all of the professional women in her day. It has since become a crossroads in the South for ladies of all ages finding styles for every day and milestone moments from prom to being mothers of brides and grooms.
“We have been in our Old Rocky Ridge location for 30 years,” says Wiggins. “Our first customers have had daughters and now granddaughters that shop with us. It’s so awesome to see these generations coming through the store, especially as my pageant girls are bringing in their daughters for their pageants and proms. We have worked with many state title holders from all 50 states in national pageants from kids to Mrs. Senior World, and have been dressing Miss Alabama for the Miss America pageant for more than 27 years!”
Many of the same ladies that The Clothes Tree has dressed for the main stage at pageants, including Baskin Champion and Hannah Brown for Miss Alabama USA and Miss America 2005, Deidre Downs, have all appeared in the pages of Alabama Weddings over the years. It is especially rewarding to see these ladies continue to grow beyond the pageants as they pursue careers, get married, and bring their daughters to The Clothes Tree for their first time.
“After expanding to Nashville, Tennessee two years ago, we have also been able to work with Reba McEntire for The Voice, Pam Tillis, Linda Davis, Pia Toscano, and so many inspirational women. Through the years, the store has made a lot of changes, but we have always stayed true to customer service being the most important.”
Representing Alabama
For this wedding guest fashion feature, we invited Miss Alabama USA 2024, Diane Westhoven, and Miss Alabama 2024, Abbie Stockard, to join us at The Clothes Tree by Deborah.
“I hope all the girls that have come through these doors love the way they look, and keep coming back for all of life’s greatest occasions. We always have room!”
