“Our love story begins in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where two football families collide. It began with two simple words – blind date. Jimmy and I, both graduates of The University of Alabama, were amazed to discover this unique football twist to our story. Jimmy’s dad is a former Alabama football and NFL quarterback, and my dad is Alabama’s Associate Athletic Director of Sports Medicine and Head Football Trainer. Our connection was a Roll Tide situation!
Our dating relationship revolved around tailgating on the Quad and cheering on the Tide. We enjoyed trips to Lexington, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. While the Tide did not come away with a victory in the Rose Bowl, LA will forever hold a special place in our hearts. On Saturday, December 30, 2023, Jimmy and I ventured to the Santa Monica Pier in a torrential rainstorm. The rain poured as we traveled the busy freeways of LA in our Chevy Malibu rental car. To our surprise, as soon as we parked, the rain stopped, the clouds parted, and it was a picture-perfect California day! As we walked along the pier, we took in the beautiful sights and sounds, and it was there that Jimmy asked me to marry him. The view of the amusement park with the Pacific Ocean in the background looked like a scene straight out of Hollywood!
