Ally downloaded Tinder on a whim one night with a couple of her friends. They spent the evening picking out photos and working on their profiles. After having the app for a few weeks and only having unsuccessful dates, Ally decided to expand her search to 60 miles. Little did she know that her future husband lived exactly 60 miles away from her. Ally was immediately interested in Mitchell when his profile appeared, so of course she swiped right. They matched that same evening and he messaged her right away. After one week of talking, he asked her on a date. Ally remembers being so excited that Mitchell was willing to make the hour and a half drive for the date. They met in downtown Florence, had dinner at Ricatoni’s, and spent the rest of the evening seeing different Florence landmarks. They walked through the campus of UNA, where they saw the lions, Leo and Una. They then went to see the fountain at Wilson Park, as well as the marina at McFarland Park. Neither of them wanted the date to end, so they shared a strawberry lemonade at Wendy’s since it was the only place still open. Mitchell then dropped her off at her house. Ally was hopeful that there would be another date before too long. Mitchell was thinking the same thing, and called to ask her out again before she could get in the door of her house. After many 60 mile trips to Florence, Mitchell asked Ally to be his girlfriend on June 28, 2019. On July 4, 2021, at the Wilson Park Fountain, Mitchell asked Ally to be his wife, to which she happily said yes.
