How They Met

I set my best friend from childhood up with his now wife back in high school, which happened to later be Isabella’s college roommate and one of her best friends. We were both in their wedding party and met at their couples shower. Isabella was always a very sought after girl (or so I was told) so it took me the whole party to build up the courage to talk to her. She almost left before I came up to her at the party but we ended up closing down the party, leaving with some of the family of the bride and groom. From there we quickly started dating and fell in love. It is safe to say that my best friend repaid the favor.” – Charlie

The Proposal Story

“I knew I wanted a private proposal free from any staging or photography because I wanted us to surprise our closest friends and family afterwards. The day that Charlie proposed, he took me to his family’s land to practice shooting skeet. I was not suspicious considering what an avid upland hunter that he is. I figured he just wanted me ready for hunting season which was about to begin. It was a sweet afternoon, and as the sun began to set, Charlie began to get really nervous. I knew something was up and started to wonder if he was going to propose. He did! It was everything I wanted and such a peaceful backdrop. It was especially sweet because on the day that we started dating, we went on a date to the same place.

He purchased the ring from an antique store that we visited together over a year before in Georgetown. When I first saw it, I took pictures of it and saved them on my phone when I thought Charlie was not paying attention (because we were with a group). I planed to try and find a ring with a similar design when the time came. Little did I know he contacted the store and bought it.” – Isabella

Isabella and Charlie will tie the knot in August 2025 at The Cathedral Church of the Advent with a reception to follow at The Florentine.
